Our coaches
We would be nothing without our amazing coaches, who give up their spare time to nurture our Swans.
Meet the coaching team that put in the hours, week after week, to develop our players. They’re at the heart of our club and we wouldn’t be here without them.
Matthew McGarragh
Development Officer / Under 8 Girls
‘Mags’ has been coaching football for more than 30 years and sits on our committee as our club Development Officer. He’s head coach for our Under 8 Girls and coaches Mini Kickers, SenStarz and Wildcats. There aren’t many days in a year when you won’t find Mags coaching at Mill Lane!
Maria Love
Swans 4 All / U13 Boys
Alongside her role as Club Secretary, Maria coaches our Cygnetz group and SenStarz at Swans 4 All on Mondays, and coaches Wildcats on Fridays. She’s been coaching for seven years and is committed to providing children with a safe environment to play football.
Gavin Jones
Swans 4 All
When he’s not carrying out his role as Chairman, or painting lines, ordering kit and generally keeping the club running – you’ll find Gav coaching. He’s currently involved in our Keepz and Wildcats sessions and steps in wherever needed.
Jon Clements
Swans 4 All / U12 Girls
Jon has been coaching with Wolverley since the tail end of 2024. He leads our Big Kikz and Keepz sessions at Swans 4 All on Mondays and helps out with our U11 Warriors. He’s also our lead for the Greater Game initiative.
Keira Jones
Swans 4 All / U12 Girls
Keira has been involved with Wolverley FC since the beginning – as a player, young mentor and now coach of our brand new U12 Girls team.
Steven Clorley
U11 Warriors
Ste has been coaching for two years, starting out with our Keepz sessions at Swans 4 All. Now he’s managing our new U11 Warriors. He believes grassroots football should be fun to enable kids to thrive.
Joe Brookes
U13 Boys
Joe has been coaching for two years and last season was his first with the Swans. He’s committed to making sure children have somewhere to go to learn and enjoy football.
Stuart Norgrove
U11 Boys
Stu has been coaching for three years. When he’s not coaching, chances are he’s helping to prepare our pitches, carrying out maintenance around the Mill Lane or installing a new kitchen in our clubhouse.
Simon McKinnon
U11 Boys
Simon has been coaching for two years and helps with our U11 Boys. He sees grassroots football as a chance to be a part of something positive, helping to create moments his players will remember.
Brett Poyner
U11 Boys
Brett first started coaching back in 2007 and is now helping Stu and Simon with the U11 Boys. He still remembers the words of his coaches when he was a young player and wants to carry that forward.
Ross Parsons
U10 Mixed
Ross has been coaching for six years after deciding to help out a friend when he gave up playing Sunday league. He loves football and wants to have a positive impact on kids who love the game.
Anthony White
U14 Girls
Ant has been coaching for 12 months. He loves seeing the enjoyment the girls get out of playing football – as well as the fact it means they’re spending an hour away from their phones!
Wayne Manning
U17 Boys
Wayne has been coaching for more than two years. He loves seeing his players enjoying their football and says there’s no feeling like waking up on a match day!
Mel Knott
Just Play
Mel began coaching 14 years ago to help her younger sister get into football. She loves that Just Play enables women to get fit and healthy and create new socal bonds.
